Liz Haslam has 30 rescue dogs and wouldn't change it for the world.

Mike Haslam and Liz have been married for 25 years. Suddenly Mike gave her a very unusual ultimatum...
-
03
53-year-old Mike told his made his wife that she had a choice to make. After getting completely fed up with the mess in their home, he told her it would be him or the dogs.
-
04
Mike and Liz met when she was only 16, and got married in 1991. But after 25 years of being together and through marriage, how could he not know the animal-obsessed-loving Liz?
-
05
“I thought after 25 years, he should know giving up the dogs was not what my intentions were,” said Liz
-
06
Liz said, “My husband said ‘it is me or the dogs.’ I haven’t seen or heard from him since”
-
07
After their family had moved into a two-bedroom farmhouse with great half an acre of land, Liz decided to start a boarding kennel business
-
08
She is the founder of BedforBullies, and began fostering dogs that often have medical/behavioral problems
-
09
Currently, Liz is fostering 30 rescue dogs and many of them are experiencing very complex needs that require attention
-
10
Liz does everything possible to see that the dogs are well taken care for and loved.
-
11
Currently five dogs are deaf and two have only one eye. A few of them are ex-fighting dogs, one also suffers from brain damage and other defects
-
12
The dogs require constant care and Liz even admited that she usually spends around 18 hours per day helping them in any way possible
-
13
“It is very deliberating job, you can’t have a day off,’ Liz said. And she's absolutely right.
-
14
“I don’t sit down till 11:30pm at night so you can’t just go on holiday”
-
15
“And I can’t just turn around and say I am not going to do it anymore, it is my responsibility, I took the dogs in I can’t just stop”
-
16
Although her business is very successful, it doesn't mean that it covers all the costs. Grueling hours of works and donations allow the rescue to operate.
-
17
But now Liz faces another problem...
-
18
Liz's bull terrier rescue facilities in the UK sit upon a property in which is being sold for development
-
19
This puts the rescue at risk for now Liz, needs to find not only herself a new home... but her beloved rescue dogs as well.
-
20
Throughout all the hardships though, it doesn’t make her sad... She stated “I have chosen to do this. I love it”.
